Dr. Pooja Mody
Pooja Mody, DO
Dr. Pooja Mody is a Board Certified General Surgeon who is also fellowship trained in Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Mody successfully completed her general surgery residency with Stonybrook Southampton Hospital in New York in 2017. Afterwards, she joined the staff at Northwell Health and Stonybrook Southampton Hospital. Alongside her general surgery duties, she served as Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Instructor of Surgery, educating both medical students and residents.
In 2021, Dr. Mody pursued her passion for Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery by participating in a Bariatric and Foregut Fellowship with St. Luke’s University Hospital Network in Pennsylvania. Through her time with St. Luke’s she has gained further training in advanced laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and endoscopy.
She enjoys learning about different health care systems and has provided surgical coverage to underserved areas of the country since 2020. She is an advocate for patient care and a champion for evidence based medicine. She served as Chair to Enhanced Recovery After Surgery within Northwell Health from 2018-2020 and is responsible for implementing perioperative guidelines to assist with improved patient outcomes.
Dr. Mody enjoys the relationships she builds with her patients and often finds encouragement through their journeys.
